Surprising Uses for Murphy® Oil Soap

While Murphy® Oil Soap works wonders on hardwood, laminate, tile and linoleum floors, that little bottle of natural oil soap is not just for the flooring throughout your home. If you've watched your grandmother use oil soap on any and all wood in your home, you already know it makes wood glimmer and shine. Here are some other surprising ways you can use the cleaner:

1. MULTIPURPOSE CLEANER

Better Homes And Gardens recommends using Murphy® Oil Soap on outdoor furniture to freshen up plastic, metal, glass or wood items. You can also use it on other Furniture, such as your wood dining table and chairs, end tables, nightstands and bed frames.

2. BATHROOM CLEANER

The oil soap can also be used in the bathroom. Mix it with water to create an all-purpose cleaning solution for the entire area, then use it on the walls, floor, sinks, counters, toilets and showers.

3. CLOTHING STAIN REMOVER

Try the soap out on laundry items that have stubborn stains. Apply a bit of the solution at full strength to the area in question, then toss it into the washing machine.

4. LEATHER CONDITIONER

Use the oil soap like a leather conditioner on leather furniture or your vehicle's dashboard area or upholstery (not cloth). Use the product at full strength and apply it to a dry cloth. Work it over the area, then use a second cloth to buff it.

5. INSECT REPELLENT

Combine Murphy® Oil Soap with rubbing alcohol, water, cooking oil and lemon juice to make a natural form of insect repellent for landscaping and gardens.

Take your Murphy® Oil Soap further than you ever thought possible and spread some cleaning love around your home. Your bathrooms, leather products, landscaping, laundry and other household items will thank you.
